Fantasy league veteran, Martin MacNamara and his charges, "Mac One" have struck gold in week one of our little league and has taken a joint lead with Huw ap Rhys and his Huwge Tackle crew. Mac however has the lead over the Welsh man having scored more tries in this round. Mac's selections included and in-form Andy Goode (16 points) and Shane Williams (10 points), while Ronan O'Gara marked up 15 fantasy league points for Rhys.
Dave Shaw was the top try scorer from the opening round with six to his credit and matched that with one assist. He sits mid table with The Graduates under the tutelage of Andrew Carey. Fellow Limerick Post Sports writer Donn O Sullivan notched up five tries and an assist to sit just two points away from the league leaders. Despite his four tries and three assist, John Malone holds up the fot of the table due to a number of players not making appearances over the weekend.
With five transfers available over the coming weeks, the managers will be keen to watch the happenings of each training camp as the week unfolds and crucial decisions will be made as to the outcome of their team selections for the weekend.
