“The Donn”
Welcome to the new Limerick Post Sports blog. We hope you enjoy everything we couldn't squash into column inches.
Here is a little piece to get to know Donn O Sullivan, the Blog's writer and Limerick Post Sports Editor.

What did you do before joining the Limerick Post?
After finishing a marketing degree from LIT in 2002 I started working for Eircom Sales team. Then I was nightclub manager of the Trinity Rooms in Limerick as well as working for the Limerick Post Newspaper in Sales. My passion for sports outweighed my sales skills so eventually, the powers that be, allowed my canteen views to be printed in the paper.
Where are you from?
Lisnagry in Limerick, but now living in Castleconnell
What exactly do you do?
Good question. I try to cram as much sports as possible into as little space as possible each week in the Limerick Post. It is a hard thing to do in the nations sporting capital.
What’s the best buzz about your job?
It has to be attending matches and games. There is nothing like getting the reaction of players and coaches straight after a game when both you and the interviewee are high on emotion.
What are your career highlights so far?
Career highlights would have to include Munster winning the Heineken Cup in 2008 in Cardiff as well as Munster versus the All Blacks in November of 2008. Interviewing Dan Carter wasn't bad either. Another high, was Limerick footballers Munster final appearance this season, although the ending was not exactly right.
What are your spare time passions?
My spare time is spent with my friends and my fiance Clodagh, but sport normally fills the gaps in between. Sport is my job so watching sport can be seen as working. HA. HA.
Your one secret (but non-work related) talent.
Tough one. I can balance 2o coins on my elbow and flick my arm down really quickly and catch them all before they fall. See what working in bars will do?
What’s your favourite sporting occasion of all time?
Any and I mean any, Munster hurling final. They are unequaled.
If you were reincarnated, who or what would you come back as?
I would love to come back as an NFL quarterback. They have it all really. Money, women and no tackling in training.
I wish I knew more about…
How to be less stressed.
People say I look like…
Scott Bakula, the guy from Quantum Leap.
What’s your idea of perfect happiness?
New York City, Starbucks Coffee, Shopping with my fiance Clodagh.
If I wasn’t working for Limerick Post, I would be…
Selling Eircom door to door or working in a nightclub. Thank you Limerick Post.
